Modern Description: "The simple single-aisle church, fenced and locked except for Wednesday morning 10-11 (per sign, 2018). Traces of an EC 3-aisled basilica. Is thought to be the site of a temple of Athena mentioned in a dedication of Herodes Atticus probably found there: ""Herodes Attikos the Marathonian repaired the temple and dedicated the statue to Athena."" IG II² 3191. A nearby cemetery produced the statue of Phrasikleia now in the National Museum.
