Modern Description: Trachones, the area now now as Ano Kalamaki, was an Ottoman ciftlik occupying the area of the ancient deme of Euonymon. Excavations in the 1960s revealed in the back garden of the Zoodochos Pigis church in Alimos, near the Alimos metro station, the foundations of a 7th c. basilica of the Holy Apostles. Excavation of wells and pits recovered a Mycenaean bronze sword and LH pottery.
