Modern Description: No remains found, but probably close to where the pre-2004 Athens hippodrome was located, in the area now occupied by the Niarchos Cultural Center. Per Hesychius, the Athenian hippodrome was in Echelidai, where there was a temple of Echelos. The Etym. Magnum says the area was 8 stades long.
