Modern Description: Substantial basilica built in the late 5th century atop a Hellenistic stoa and road, incorporating ancient blocks including monuments from the ceremonial entry to the city from the harbor. Excavated by the University of Athens (L. Palaiokrassa, G. Pallis et al., ongoing 2019), the apse and eastern end are exposed, along with an earlier fountain in the NE corner. Synthronon, altar table, etc. Rebuilt in the 6th c.
