Modern Description: The tower, made of massive partly worked blocks, part of a larger structure, sits in an olive grove in the locality known as Are Bartzi above the W bank of the Xerias river, commanding the only practical land route from the Korinthia to Korfos bay, possibly Thucydides's Spiraion. Probably late 4th c. Unsignposted, unfenced, most easily accessible via the jeep track that heads E about 125 m S of Ag. Christoforos church (ca. 3.5 km). The shorter route up the bed of the Xerias from Korfos involves a very steep scramble (ca 80 m. vertical) up faint goat-paths.
