Modern Description: Road widening to the hilltop chapel of Profitis Ilias E of Ayios Adrianos uncovered a votive pit, which was excavated in 1962 revealing pottery and figurines from Mycenaean to Roman times. Excavating under the chapel, foundations of an archaic temple were found. A small cave was explored just N of the chapel below the summit, with similar finds. Cyclopean walls around the summit suggest a Mycenaean citadel here. The excavator opined that it might be Pausanias' Lessa.
