Modern Description: A small 4th c. BCE fortress, unsignposted, sits atop a modest ridge one kilometer E of the village of Agios Adrianos. From the village, follow the signs for Prophitis Ilias (bearing left when in doubt. The preserved doorway of the fortress will soon be visible at the N extreme of the hill. Just before the saddle of the ridge, a dirt road runs left (N) through an olive grove. The last 150 m to the summit are a trackless scramble over boulders. An outer wall of polygonal masonry closes off access from the ridge. A 10 meter square blockhouse of large, well-cut limestone blocks, including a gate with lintel in place, forms the inner bastion. Fine views over the fertile plain.
