Modern Description: The best-preserved Mycenaean bridge, on the road linking Mycenae, Tiryns and Epidaurus. A monumental structure of large stones in 'Cyclopean' masonry (c. 1300 BC). A rich Mycenaean tholos tomb (1500-1450 BC) has been excavated in the area.
The neighbouring acropolis was inhabited throughout the Bronze Age (3200-1100 BC). A fort of the late 5th century BC.
