Modern Description: On the outskirts of Agia Triada (ex-Merbaka), once on the main road to Nauplio, an important church built ca. 1280 by William of Moerbeke, the Frankish bishop of Corinth and a leading Greek scholar of his day. See the important article in Hesperia 84.3 by Guy Sanders. The church is decorated with spolia from the Argive Heraion, as well as by fine Majolica bowls characteristic of Italian churches.
