Modern Description: The route of Douketios into Akragantine territory after the conquest of Aitna-Inessa (Diod. 11.91.1) suggests that Motyon was located in the north-eastern part of Geloan-Akragantine territory; the site of Sabucina,which is strongly fortified and reveals more indigenous traits than sites such as Monte Saraceno and Monte Bubbonia, may be the best candidate.
