Modern Description: Remains of housing blocks of a substantial settlement were excavated east of Perivolia (SE of modern Megalopolis) during construction of a linking road to the new Corinth-Kalamata highway. A loom-weight inscribed ΟΡΕΣ inclines the excavator to associate the site (now reburied) with Oresthasion. The evidence is thin for changing the traditional identification with Haimoniai
