Modern Description: NE of the city of Halieis, a shore sanctuary probably of Apollo was excavated in shallow water in the bay of Porto Cheli. Remains of an earlier and later temple, an altar, and a racetrack with starting line. An inscribed temple key to Apollo suggests the chief divinity worshipped. Finds included votive cups, spearheads, etc. Scientific American October 1974, Jameson. Underwater/inaccessible.
