Modern Description: A defensive wall reinforced with towers and a gateway is preserved on the hill of the Hellenistic acropolis. Inside are the ruins of a small temple, perhaps of Apollo Samnaios, with statue bases. On the NE slope, a small theatre with the altar to Dionysos. Sections of the outer defensive wall of the city with tower and gateway.
