Modern Description: At a site called Elliniko E of Mouriatada Marinatos excavated a Mycenaean megaron and settlement of the Late Helladic IIB period. A small tholos tomb was discovered about 200 m NE of the settlement, on the slope of a hill. Marinatos identified this site with the Homeric Amphigeneia, one of the 8 largest cities of the kingdom of Nestor.
