Modern Description: A Mycenaean chamber tomb-cemetery (15th-12th century BC) around the Classical acropolis. The finds indicate a flourishing trade network with the Aegean islands and Crete. The fortified enceinte of the ancient city and the acropolis, with polygonal masonry (5th-4th century BC), is preserved over the whole area. Inside the city are building remains of Roman times. In the 6th century AD the inhabitants of Epidauros Limera resettled at the naturally fortified site of Cape Minoa (Monemvasia).
