Modern Description: To the west of Helatros are several, similarly sandy but shade-less bays. For the best swimming and beaches while staying on Kasos, it is worth taking the M/S Athina which plies in the summer months to and from the islands of Armáthia (ancient Harmedon) and Makrá (ancient Naulochos), both of which have long, clear beaches and limpid water.
