Modern Description: Also a harbour of Elyrus on a height near the village of Souya. Remains of Hellenistic and Roman buildings, and parts of an aqueduct and cisterns. Vaulted-roofed tombs above ground.
The village church stands on the ruins of an Early Christian basilica (6th century) with mosaic floor. Ruins of a second three-aisled basilica (6th century) E of Souya, and remains of a mosaic floor from another basilica a little further S.
