Modern Description: Two small settlements at the sites of Kastro (higher) and Vronta (lower), that existed from the 12th to the 7th century BC (houses on terraces and a cult area), and from the 12th to the 11th century BC (Minoan shrine and contemporary cist-grave cemetery) respectively. A cemetery of cremation burials was created on the site of the abandoned settlement at Vronta in the 8th century BC. Tholos tombs of the 12th-8th century BC in the area N-NE of the present village of Kavousi. At the site of Tholos Kavousiou, remains of a Roman storage building.
