Modern Description: Near the village of Afrati in the province of Pediada. Ruins of the city that flourished in Geometric and Archaic times on and around Profitis Ilias hill. SE of the summit, which is surrounded by a trapezoid fort with circular towers at the corners (possibly Hellenistic), a sanctuary (9th-7th century BC) with a temple (7th century BC) has been excavated. There are Geometric tholos tombs on the W slope. (Dataleis in Barrington Atlas)
