Modern Description: The valley of Maroni has extensive settlement. At the site of Vournes, a Late Cypriot administrative complex was excavated. The complex was abandoned about 1200 BC, and in the Archaic period a sanctuary was implanted that functioned until Hellenistic times. Charactistic finds include limestone figurines of male and female divinities
